The Dung Beatles

Since forming in 2013 The Dung Beatles have drawn a sizable following, many of them hard-core Beatles fans. They come highly acclaimed by The British Beatles Fan Club, and legendary Friars Aylesbury Club promoter David Stopps rates them as “one of the best Beatles bands in the world”. Though the band started off 'just for fun' (hence the name!), they are to all intents and purposes a highly professional ‘Beatles rock band’ (rather than ‘tribute’), playing the Fab Four’s songs, with authenticity, passion and energy. With nearly 300 gigs played, including Liverpool’s Cavern Club (twice), many appearances on BBC Radio, theatres and festivals, one of the band's proudest achievements was raising over £20,000 for the Disasters & Emergencies Committee’s Ukraine appeal, from their ‘Concert for Ukraine’ initiative.Their repertoire of over 120 songs spans all the hits to many album gems and rarities; this latest appearance at Thame Players Theatre sees the band reunited for the first time since 2019 with their 4-piece horn section ’The Hornettes’ for a set that ranges from early to late Beatles, and for the first time, a medley of songs from the early ‘70s. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
