A Brief History of Thame with Bruce Alexander

Day-to-day life has always been lived against a backdrop of change. In this fascinating illustrated talk, Bruce Alexander dwells on change as the thread running through our history. Join Bruce as he draws on his book Thame in Time to investigate the town’s various pasts.
Bruce is well known as an actor of over 50 years’ experience. He has appeared on stage and screen in the UK and internationally, but his roots are in the local area. We are, after all, our local environment and its history. He has lived in Haddenham for over four decades and proudly regards Thame as his home town.
As an actor, Bruce is well-used to a bit of sleuthing to get into the shoes of others. His book on the history of Thame was published by Book House Books - themselves based in Thame for over half a century, just before Christmas 2024.
Bruce has been a patron of Thame Players for 30 years and is honoured to be a Life Member.
