Thame Players are very grateful to the following organisations for grants, donations, funding and support for our Building A Better Theatre campaign, which have helped make recent improvements to the building possible.

Thame Town Council

The Garfield Weston Foundation

The Theatres Trust

The Trust for Oxfordshire’s Environment (TOE2)

The Foyle Foundation

Oxfordshire Community Foundation

The Doris Field Trust

The Pye Charitable Settlement

Thame Players are very grateful for the support of community organisations, other bodies wishing to remain anonymous, and many private donors, who have also helped to make the improvements possible.

There are four main areas of improvement in the Building A Better Theatre campaign –

  • Enlarging the stage and upgrading lighting facilities so that bigger, more ambitious and more varied shows can be performed to suit as many tastes as possible.
  • Installing a completely new heating system so that audiences are warm and comfortable, no matter what the weather. The new eco-friendly system will achieve a 24% improvement in energy usage.
  • Increasing the seating capacity – an extra row of 13 seats have been added, enabling more people to see more shows. The increased capacity will mean that bigger budget shows become more viable.
  • Reconfiguring the balcony seating – the sightlines have been improved which means audiences in the balcony have an enhanced view of the stage from all seats.
